About The WRAC

To promote active, healthy lifestyles by providing racquet sports, aquatics and fitness opportunities for our owner-members.

Wenatchee Racquet and Athletic Club, in operation as a non-profit, members-owned recreational facility since 1961, originated as a facility designed to meet the needs of the community for tennis and swimming and began with 7 outdoor tennis courts, an outdoor pool and clubhouse. Since that time, the club has continued to grow and evolve and now offers the valley's only full service facility with programs for all ages and skills, on over 8 acres of facilities with 11.3 more acres available for future club growth. The club is truly a place for the whole family to spend time together as part of their active and healthy lifestyle.
Different levels of memberships are offered to match your personal needs with the club's facilities and program offerings.  Contact us today about trying the club.  We'd love to introduce you to all that the club offers.

THE WRAC... Where EVERY Club Member is an Club Owner!
WRAC Board of Directors serve as the governing body for our member owned, non-profit corporation, established in 1961.

Board Meetings are normally on the third Wednesday of each month from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. and are held in the upstairs lobby of the indoor facility. Members are always invited and encouraged to attend monthly Board meetings, but also the Annual Club Meeting held in March (watch for date and time in newsletter). Meeting Minutes are posted on the Bulletin Board by the front door for member viewing.

Alan Patterson - President
We have been WRAC members since July of 2000. Physical fitness has long been a priority in our family and the WRAC has been an important resource in meeting those needs. My wife, Lynne, is a regular participant in the some of the fitness classes offered at the WRAC. My son, Troy, learned to play tennis through WRAC instructional programs starting in the third grade. He currently plays on the Whitworth University team and at the WRAC when he is home from college. He also utilizes the WRAC weight training equipment for his personal workout regimen. I mostly used the fitness equipment as part of my weekly workout routine. Last year, after years of watching my son play tennis, I decided to take it up myself. I am now playing at least three days a week and loving it.

Board Members 2013 002Wendy Focht - Vice President
Wendy has been a member since 2003 which was precipitated by the closeness to her work at CWH.  She have been active in sports all her life as a graduate of Wenatchee and the University of Washington, and find the WRAC a perfect fit for continuing an active lifestyle.  Her family has participated in swim team, fitness challenges and many group classes at the WRAC. Wendy is excited about the WRAC's exceptional staff and for the future of the club!  She looks forward to seeing the growth of the WRAC, and it's active participation in community wellness.

Nel Wheeler - Secretary
I have been a member of the WRAC since October of 2008. My involvement with the WRAC started when we enrolled our youngest son in swim lessons years ago.  He learned how to swim through the great swim program offered and then went on to swim with the summer swim league for several years.  I especially enjoy the fitness program offered at the WRAC; with my favorite two classes being cycling and power yoga.  The fitness program offers a lot of diversity for our members as well as upbeat instructors.

 Elizabeth Wilson - Treasurer
After being a member of the Building Committee, Elizabeth joined the WRAC Board in 2016 and she is excited to see all of the changes taking place at the WRAC.  She and her husband, Dave, moved to Malaga in 2013 and love all of the outdoor activities possible in the Wenatchee area.  Elizabeth’s background is in real estate development and she hopes to make a positive contribution to the WRAC’s future.

I grew up at the club and have lived next door for years.  My passion is playing that "yellow ball" game and have enjoyed being part of the club as a Board member.

Kelly Green
New to the WRAC board in 2014, I am enjoying learning the inner workings of club operations, financial management and plans for the future.  I was a member of the WRAC (along with my family) growing up which led to a life-long love for tennis and fitness.  My professional back ground is in marketing and public relations and I live in Cashmere with my husband, Brian and our 4 teenagers.  I am looking forward to getting more involved at the WRAC, working with our fabulous staff, sampling the numerous programs and opportunities our club has to offer and meeting more members!

Dick LesterDick Lester
I have been a member of the WRAC since 1991. My wife, Ellen, and I have always been active participants at the club with tennis, fitness and yoga being our areas of interest. Our two sons enjoyed the facilities and activities at the club as they grew up. Retired now from an airline career I'm looking forward to seeing the WRAC grow and continue the full service and family friendly atmosphere that was important to us.

The 2012 Fitness Challenge introduced me to the WRAC.  Exercise is much more enjoyable with goals in mind and friends alongside. I am a fitness and racquetball member, and you'll usually see me in group classes, especially yoga. I also make good use of the weight and cardio center to prepare for the rigors of teaching skiing at Mission Ridge. The WRAC is a welcoming community of people who enjoy physical activity. Join us!
